Cutters for a manicure machine: types, purpose, how to choose and use

Cutters for hardware manicure are represented by dozens of varieties. Each of the existing types has a specific purpose, differs in material, hardness degree and other parameters. A basic set of cutters usually comes with the machine. However, for a full-fledged operation it is necessary to buy a tool, the choice of which can be difficult to determine for a novice master.

Let’s review the classification of manicure cutters and their purpose, as well as the basic selection criteria.

How safe cutters differ

Safety manicure nozzles do not have a rough abrasive surface. Instead of a rough coating, they have rounded edges, which are easier to slide over the nails, do not scratch their surface and do not damage the skin.

A safe manicure cutter always lasts longer than a regular cutter. It is not prone to abrasion, its edges do not chip on the nails. The nozzle is easier to disinfect thanks to the smooth surface, as particles of treated skin do not get stuck in it.

TORNADO Root Remover Cultivator. Testimonial

It’s a new season, when gardeners plant seedlings and begin to prepare beds, some in the greenhouse, and some in the garden itself. And all are invariably faced with two problems: the need to dig the earth and clear it of weeds, which have not yet had time to thaw snow, and already put down roots. I want to share with you an interesting find that we bought a few years ago. This is the Tornado Root Remover Hand Tiller. A very difficult name, especially for those who have only recently started to garden. But this thing is very useful in everyday life of any gardener!

This tool has also become known as Tornadika. over, they write both names, as well as the other, or both at once, adding one in brackets. But their essence is the same. over, the design, location of parts, configuration and even color, they have the same. As I understand it was rebranded or something else marketing.

  • Full name: Tornado Root Remover Hand Tiller.
  • Where to buy a Tornado grinder: Leroy Merlin (most likely it is available in any store where garden tools are sold). Can be ordered on Ozone or other online stores.
  • . Some stores carry this ! I advise you before buying to look at the in different places, and not to be fooled by pseudo discounts, because you can buy much cheaper!
  • Size: 104 cm.

What did we buy it for?

We had a real virgin land. Part of it plowed the tractor, and some of it remained untouched, covered with a thick turf, which a simple shovel to dig a real hell. Only men can do this, we women (me and my mom) could not cope with this weed. Weeds still grow on the plowed part. Especially we have a lot of dandelions, thorny weed thistle, as well as an army of other weeds, including those with deep creeping root system. There are quite a few weeds that prick, cut and burn. The same thistle or nettle. Also, you have to dig over the ground every year, which is pretty bad for your back. I’m young, I get tired quickly, and then I suffer from lower back pains, to say nothing of my parents of preretirement age! That’s why the Root Remover was a great find for us!

Design. How to use the tornado tiller?

Very simple construction. A pole with a massive “handlebar” on one end and screwed-in teeth on the other. It was originally disassembled, but it was very easy to reassemble. There were no problems with it. For me with a height of a little less than 170 centimeters and my mother, who is below 160 centimeters, the height of the cultivator is ideal. We are often asked to try it by visiting friends and relatives to see if they need it. For people taller than 180 or taller, it’s not as easy to use. They have to bend just a little, which makes their backs get tired quickly.

The cultivator is made of metal. Very durable and of high quality. In two years, nothing has bent or fallen off. Just a little bit of paint after the paint.

It can be screwed into the ground and it will stand. In summer we often use it in the garden, as a coat rack for jackets or coats.

Using the cultivator is very easy. You just have to put it in the place you want to dig or remove weeds and turn the “steering wheel” clockwise.

The tines dig into the ground easily. The more you twist, the deeper the cultivator sinks into the ground. But it only takes half a turn before the tines sink all the way into the ground. You can continue to screw in, but it goes hard, you have to exert effort. over, it is often not necessary. Cultivator breaks through to a depth of about 20 cm. An ordinary shovel takes the same depth.

Next, simply lift the cultivator upwards. Usually it is very easy to lift it out of the ground. Except in two cases:

  • A lot of well-developed roots that go deep into the ground. Cultivator grabs it, but can’t pull it out.
  • Very heavy, clayey soil. You get a lump that’s hard to lift by weight.

If the ground has been previously digged over, is dry and has few roots, then it will immediately crumble when the cultivator is lifted. You get a torn, almost level ground, which only needs to be raked up a bit. It was harder with a shovel. You dig, you turn the clod over, you have to break it up.

Wet soil comes out as a clump. Usually it falls off easily once you hit the ground with the cultivator. It’s different if the soil is very clayey. It will be more difficult to clean the clump there.

To remove a weed, the cultivator needs to be placed directly over it. We haven’t grown any big weeds in our greenhouse yet. Of course, we don’t let it sprout. But there are small nettles. An example of its removal from the ground can be seen in the photo above. Cultivator pulls the weed out with the root. Very handy on dandelions and thistles. When pulled out of the ground, the soil crumbles and the plant itself usually falls from the top. Then it’s easy to pick it up and throw it in the bucket with the weeds. When digging with a shovel, weeds are often planted with soil from above, or you have to dig them up and bend down to pull them out. It’s easier with a cultivator. I usually dig out a few dozen weeds and then go and pick them up. This is much faster and less tired back, the more it is possible to collect them with a rake in a pile, and not to bend over every time.

How To Stop a Tornado

Basic beginner’s kit

This is what I think a basic beginner’s kit of cutters looks like.

  • Blue corn stripper (you need to watch that this blue abrasive is not too coarse);
  • Silicone polisher;
  • Red flame of medium diameter;
  • A 2-3 mm bullet cutter., red or blue abrasive. This is the nozzle I use when I get a manicure on my working hand.
  • Red ball 2-3 mm.

Safety cutters

Cutter heads remain dangerous 90% of the time if you don’t follow the basic rules of use. The manicure machine is selected based on the purpose, as there is a distinction between professional models and those that are designed for home use.

Silicone-carbide sanders are considered the safest. They are convenient for basic manipulations: cleaning rollers, pterygia and cuticles.

Another safe tool is the corundum stone. It has no notches, only ribs that cut soft burrs at high speeds. Can leave cuts if not positioned correctly in relation to the nail.

What cutters are there by material and what is the difference between them?

In addition to the degree of abrasion, you must understand the material from which the cutter is made and for what purpose it is designed.

have a notch. Its working principle is to shear off material particles at high rotational speeds. they leave a completely smooth surface. The hardness depends on the number of cuts-the more of them, the softer the burr. Use this type of nozzles only for acrylic, gel and gel-lacquer, they damage the natural plate and thin skin.

have a diamond coating. Due to the micro-abrasiveness, they gently remove the skin and are sometimes acceptable to work on a natural nail, such as when modeling an arch or alignment. Such nozzles are also widely used in pedicures, when you need to remove corns and dry calluses. We advise not to use them for artificial material, as it quickly clogs and blunts them.

Also have a notched surface and work in the same way as the carbide tips. They also work with the material, usually gel-lacquer. However, in contrast to the hard-alloy, they are softer and not as strong in the process of cutting, so they are safer and suitable for novice masters.

Have a dusting of fine crumbs. Due to their softness, they gently work on the nail and skin, including buffing and polishing cuticles and rollers. Like ceramics, this type of nozzle heats little and is recommended for beginners.

They use rubber backing pads and sand caps of different abrasiveness for gentle treatment of rough skin. The former are disinfected after each use, the latter are thrown away.

Rubber, silicone, suede sanders and polishers are used in the finishing stage. They are very soft, so you can’t damage the skin or plate with them. They can be used on their own, along with oil or a special cream.

Biotechschool Magic bits. Review

Hello, dear readers. Today we will talk about cutters from biotech school. Earlier, I was lucky enough to be on a live courses Hardware manicure from Biotech school, read it, do not regret it.

So, I purchased the cutters right at the training center. I got a universal set of 4 cutters. It cost me 1620

1.The first cutter. this, a medium corundum cone, is an extra mild abrasive. Cost 270 This cutter helps lift the cuticle. It copes with this on a hurrah. You have to be very careful when working with it.к. If the skin is thin and dry, you can make a cut. I am very happy with this cutter, basically with this cutter, you can do a clean combi. If you add a fissure, it works like fire:)

The disadvantage of this cutter is that it is very fragile and can not be put in a dryer, only cold sterilization. precisely, not only cold, you can also put it in a dryer, but there is a possibility that it will crack. Good news. If the tip is blunt, you can sand it down with a bafik and it’s good as new:)

The second cutter. Fissure with natural diamond, made in Austria. Cost. 450 At school, they said that this is not pure diamond grit, but just flecks of it. If it were pure diamond, it would cost even more.

It needs to be handled with extreme caution, not blindly, it is very dangerous. A beast in a good sense of the word. Pterygium flies in different directions and the side grooves are cleaned perfectly. Work at 10-15 rpm.

At the end of your manicure, you can use it to remove stains and clean up messes you didn’t clean up earlier.

Diamond cutters with natural medium-soft abrasive grit. Cost 450 Suitable for almost all skin types. First put it under the cuticle and turn it out like a skirt and then, with the same cutter, remove it. Magic! It really works.

There is a risk of chafing or even tearing the skin. The matter of practice, and the technique itself, look at YouTube channel school, they show everything in great detail, without concealing secrets.

Ball polisher. Cost 450 Polishes all cuts, making the skin shiny and soft. After that the cuticle grows back with a soft, smooth edge. It’s a pleasure to work with, it glides over your skin like a knife through butter, pardon the analogy.

This is how you get a clean manicure with these cutters. They work fine, they’re reliable. I have no desire to try other cutters so far.

Sterilization is standard for all but the corundum. soaking in disinfectant, dry-heat. No corundum in the dry-heat oven.

Cutters get clogged quickly. It is ideal to have a narrow sink, then they last longer. I do not have it, I wash it in warm water with a stiff brush.

This cutter has an average lifetime. 6 months at a load of 2-3 people a day.

I recommend these cutters as they are very good.к. Only with them I learned what a working cutter. Now planning to buy a second set. But I must say at once, the hardware manicure is not suitable for all without exception, sometimes you have to pull out the wire cutters.

And at the end a bit of fun, photos of finished work with the hardware manicure.

Cutter Fanatka Straz Safe “Oney clean” FS. review

Hi all. I bought this cutter for one reason. lift very sticky and thin cuticles, which are easy to tear or hurt with a pusher or an orange stick. Cutter itself looks like this:

It consists of several perfectly smooth edges, due to which the pterygium is removed and the cuticle is lifted, but the nail plate itself has less chance of being pierced as it can happen with traditional abrasive manicure cutters.

To start the cuticle should be raised with an orange wand, if possible, then use this cutter the same way as they work with the cutter “Flame”, I put the speed of about 15,000 rpm./minute. But there are cases where raising the cuticle is problematic and some pressure must be applied to the matrix, which can then cause holes in the nails, especially on the thumbs. In such cases, I do not touch the cuticle and immediately start working with the cutter, especially seen in pedicures. See how gently, and most importantly without unpleasant feelings, the cutter lifts the adherent cuticle:

But you should always be careful, because even with this cutter there is a risk to kerf a nail if you keep it on the same place, it is clearly visible on the baffle:

Therefore, it is necessary to work with this cutter gently, without effort and pressure, not holding it in one place. Overall, the cutter is excellent, I have not noticed any disadvantages in it.
