Table for a hand jigsaw with their own hands

Steps of manufacturing

Regardless of the material selected, it is necessary to:

  • make a base and connect it to the work surface with holes for fixing the sole of the instrument;
  • make a system of brackets for the upper saw guide;
  • assemble and adjust the table.

Base and work surface

The dimensions of the base are chosen on the basis of the dimensions of the jigsaw and are approximate. Working surface sizes are also given as a guide, on the mounting side of the bracket it is flush with the base, on the other three sides there is a small overhang for convenient fastening of accessories (clamps, stops, etc.). п.).

Bracket

The design of the bearing bracket is illustrated in the following illustration. The dimensions can be chosen individually, but some things must be kept in mind.

Bearings, which limit saw’s movement aside, should be chosen on the basis of sizes of saws that are planned to work with. Width of bearing itself (marked as “B” in reference books) should not be more than the width of saw blade, not to blunt its teeth.

So, for example, if the blade width of metal saws (T123X, T118A) is usually more than 5 mm, then bearings with size B 4-5 mm, for example, will be suitable:

In this case you should prefer models with the letters ZZ, 2RS as the most protected from the effects of dust, which in the process of cutting will certainly be.

Wood saw blades, on the other hand, can be narrow (T244D approx. 3.5mm) and very narrow (T119BO approx. 3mm, which can be used in our case). As an option, bearing 100093 (aka 693, 3mm x 8mm x 3mm).

Screws M3 or M4, nuts (the best are self-locking screws with nylon insert, which prevent spontaneous loosening) should be selected for the chosen bearing.

The distance between the axes of the bearings is also calculated based on the dimensions of the saws, the thickness of the blade can be between 0.9 and 1.7 mm.

Example: The T244D has a blade thickness of 1.25mm and the T123X, T118A has a blade thickness of 1mm. Rounding up is better.

Assembly and adjustment

The bracket can be attached as follows

This way of fastening makes it possible to adjust the height of the guide bearings to the length of the saw and (with the help of a square) to the perpendicularity of the saw to the table.

Basic rules for working on the jigsaw table

When working on a table for a jigsaw, certain rules should be observed. When cutting, do not force the workpiece onto the saw blade to avoid breaking it. A saw blade wears out quickly enough and must be periodically replaced with a new one. When machining thin metal sheets, it is recommended to place plywood under them. The jigsaw must be securely clamped. It is reasonable to make long cuts using guide bars.

Parameters of the jigsaw should correspond to the material to be processed. If you saw laminated material it is better to put a strip of scotch tape on the place of sawing to avoid chipping. When making circular cuts, the jigsaw‘s pendulum should be set to a minimum level.

How to make a table for an electric jigsaw: ideas, materials, step-by-step instructions, photos and video

Handheld power tools are very popular among both amateurs and professionals because of their obvious advantages, namely:

The flip side of these unconditional advantages is the presence of such disadvantages as:

  • relatively short continuous working time;
  • Low achievable accuracy;
  • insufficient quality of machining.

Obviously, these disadvantages are deprived by professional stationary solutions. machines and machines on solid stands. They, as a consequence, are quite expensive, but the main thing. they need somewhere to be placed. And what to do if there is no possibility to equip the workshop, but you want to improve the quality of work? This question is asked by many of those who are involved in a serious hobby, and even just novice masters.

Jigsaw table

Such a multifaceted tool as a forehead, has several varieties, the simplest of which, is the manual type of device. This elementary tool, not burdened with an electric drive and complex assemblies, is designed for a neat figure sawing of small thickness blanks. Speed of work, depending on the physical indicators and the convenience of the workplace. To facilitate the process of sawing, it is recommended to construct a special sawing table for the jigsaw, the drawing of which is located below. This simple device will save labor and many times increase the efficiency of work.

You can assemble a jigsaw table from a variety of materials: plywood, particle board, wood, laminate, metal and even plastic. If there is absolutely nothing suitable, and the necessary section must be purchased, then in this case, the most easily available and convenient in processing will be plywood. To make a complete product, you will need the following components:

The process of making a jigsaw table is very simple. Transfer the contours of the product from the drawing to the workpiece and saw out the 2 main parts, as in the photo below. The important thing here is to consider the thickness of the top of your clamp so that it does not protrude. If necessary, the surface can be made thicker by sawing out another top piece.

Prepared parts are connected by self-tapping screws or glued together into a single, monolithic structure. The edges are deburred with a file or sandpaper and the finished device is secured to the table.

There are quite a few alternatives for making such devices, differing in size and mounting methods. One of these rather interesting designs is shown in the following video. Article in Rating

Table for jigsaw

No carpentry shop today can do without a jigsaw. This tool can be found at the construction site, as well as almost at any repair base. But not all craftsmen, especially beginners, know that the functionality of a traditional jigsaw can be significantly extended.

The potential of an electric jigsaw increases significantly if the sawing tool is used in combination with a specialized table. This accessory allows the jigsaw to be rigidly fixed and makes it possible to perform various types of cutting, from straight to curved and at a certain angle.

It is worth noting that the rigidly fixed jigsaw makes the cutting process extremely predictable, which is very positive both for safety and production culture.

This review is dedicated to the topic of making a homemade jigsaw table. But before describing the stages of implementation of this device, I would like to tell you what variants of tables for electric jigsaw offers the industry. After all, only the most successful models are put on the conveyor, distinguished by practicality, reliability and aesthetics.
