The strengths of homemade equipment can include the ability to customize the machine for use in the terrain, adapt the tank to the needs of the farm (volume, working substances, etc.д.).

  • The need to check the bottom before each trip, t.к. because of cheap materials it deteriorates due to corrosion.

Mechanized sprayers and their classification

Sprayers. machines, designed to protect cultivated plants from diseases and pests, as well as for application of mineral fertilizers.

Depending on how they are connected with the basic devices, there are three main types of sprayers:

  • Mounted on the base chassis. with a volume of 400 to 800 liters of mounted mechanisms, designed to treat a 12-18 m wide area of the field per pass. The advantages of these units are low price, maneuverability and compactness. Disadvantage. low output.
  • Units connected to the base machine with trailed equipment. This group includes trailed complexes for chemical treatment of crops up to 1 thousand hectares with working width of 12-36 meters and chemical tank volume from 2 to 4 cubic meters. m. Machines in this category are most widely used in post-Soviet farms.
  • Self-propelled spraying complexes (e.g. UESM Rosa). High-capacity, expensive equipment, mainly produced by Western European and American companies. Application of such machines is economically justified on the fields with the area of more than 1 thousand hectares.

Sprayer drawings for tractor

The design of the sprayer is very simple. It consists of a strong frame, which is four bolts attached to a homemade front linkage of tractor MTZ-80; articulated frame, pressure boom with four sprayers and a tank with a solution.

In the tank, 50 mm from the bottom, hanged a pump from a car washer NC-300 on 12 V. Pump performance is quite enough to operate the sprayer.

Sprayer is turned on from the tractor cab with a simple toggle switch, which connects directly to the plus wire of the electrical cable to the pump. The spray liquid is delivered by the pump through a hose to the pressure tube and through nozzles to the surface to be treated.

The spray boom with nozzle is attached to the articulated frame, meaning it is movable in relation to the sprayer frame, i.e. its height can be adjusted. There is a lifting mechanism that allows you to adjust the distance from the boom to the ground, depending on the height of the plants, the depth of the furrows in the soil, direction and strength of the wind.

Now I would like to describe in detail the features of the construction of the sprayer and the manufacture of each of its components. The frame is welded from pieces of steel profiles of various sections: angles 90×56 and 50×50 mm, square and rectangular tubes 50×50 and 50×25 mm, strips 50×10 mm, as well as 8 mm thick braids.

Four holes with diameter of 12.5 mm are drilled in the frame brackets for bolts M12 to fasten the sprayer to the homemade tractor front linkage. Holes in the frame trays are designed for four screws of the same size that hold the spray liquid tank.

The lifting mechanism consists of a screw with a left trapezoidal thread Tg 14×3 LH (you can use a screw from the “Zhiguli” jack), a handle and a double-armed lifting bar. The bar is welded from a thrust sleeve, two arms. sections of pipe 32×3 mm and two brackets. sections of angle 50×50 mm.

Structurally the sprayer frame is inextricably linked with the lifting mechanism because before it was assembled the drive screw was first screwed into the nut inserted into the end hole of the frame boom and only then the first thrust washer was welded to the end of the screw, then the double shoulder lifting bar was put on and the second thrust washer was welded on.

the swivel frame is also assembled by electric welding from 32 and 25mm diameter pipe segments, lugs and braces from 8mm and 3mm thick sheet steel, respectively. To the frame of the sprayer the frame is attached, of course, hinged by two bolts M12.

Turn the screw by means of the knob to increase or decrease the height of lift of the pressure boom in relation to the ground. Pressure rod is a plastic tube with a diameter of 32 mm, which the three clamps tightened to the beam hinged frame. The left (in the direction of the tractor) end of the boom is closed with a duralumin plug and the right end is connected to the supply hose through an adapter. The clamps at the ends of the rod serve to seal the connections and prevent the solution from leaking out.

Below in the boom at a distance of 700 mm from each other drilled four holes with a diameter of 13 mm for the nozzle bodies. Hulls with sprayers are taken from the industrial sprayer brand OPSH-1.5.

The last part of the device. reservoir. is made from 200-liter barrel with thick walls. The thick walls are necessary, because electric welding was used in the construction of the tank.

On top of the barrel. hatch, and at the bottom. two slat supports for mounting on sprayer frame. A pump is inserted through a manhole into the tank and suspended there on a thin rope (from a motorcycle clutch) to a specially welded bracket.

The hatch is closed with a lid, which has a hole for the outlet of the feed hose and the pump electric cable. The lid with four M8 bolts is attached to a flange welded to the top of the hatch.

It took me only a few days to make the sprayer. Then came the tests. Poured water into the tank and turned on the pump. The first thing I saw from the tractor cab was the rainbow playing with all its colors on the very thin film of fan spray. Clicked toggle switch. rainbow went out. The nozzle body is designed so that when the fluid pressure is turned off, special sleeves, by the force of spring compression, block the fluid from reaching the nozzles. So, not a single drop of solution gets on the ground outside the operation.
