I have been working with a large angle grinder with 230 mm circles from time to time for several years now. Naturally, I will always have little experience with this kind of work, so I would like to determine the safest techniques for myself.

Since you are in the plane of its rotation, it can cut you in half, ricocheting off the part or the ground. I had the circle torn off, when I was sawing rusty bolts from the plane, on which I lightly pressed the plane of the circle. Luckily, the wheel came off neatly and just went sideways.
