The 2nd variant is more suitable, because the voltage in the battery drops quite rapidly from the highest rate to the lowest (from 16.8 to 14.8 V). For an electronic motor, which in fact is not an electric screwdriver, going over 4.8 volts is not a critical point.

The 3S-Li-Ion modification has the lowest voltage index. It is equal to 7.5 V, which is insufficient for the productive activity of the electronic device. By assembling four configurations, we increase the electrical capacity of the battery.

At the time of conversion, all components (for two batteries) cost only 1100, which is a lot cheaper than buying a new battery for an electric screwdriver, which will be all the same Ni Cd batteries. Rebuilding a battery

The first thing to do is to carefully disassemble the battery case and throw away the old Ni Cd batteries.

Then disconnect the battery power terminal.

To it you need to solder two wires, preferably with a large cross section, in this rewiring were used wires with a cross section of 4 mm² and a length of about 100 mm. Now we can start to solder the batteries. Remove the heat shrink tube from the batteries and bend them so that it is possible to solder them in series.

Next, we apply hot melt to the side of the battery where the contacts stick out on top and glue the BMS board as shown in the photo below. Note that the plus and minus sides of the board and the battery are facing each other.

Then bend the battery contacts onto the board contacts and solder them, starting with the minus!

We solder a short wire to the B1 pin of the board and solder the other end to the battery connection point!

We also solder a short wire to the B2 terminal and solder its other end to the battery connection point on the opposite side!

At the end, solder the last, plus contact.

Now it remains to connect the case terminals with the resulting battery, to do this solder the red wire to terminal P, and the blue, negative wire, to terminal P-.

That’s the end of the battery rebuild! It remains to fix the fabricated battery and put in place the second part of the case.
