It didn’t seem like there was enough depth to his critique of the prison system to merit the extent of the florid metaphors that it was wrapped in. The author decided to write Robby’s story, including visits to the prison and how it all affected John himself. I liked it alot. I read this book for an assignment for my English class. Every ounce of suffering and confusion and dissociation is used to produce something beautiful.
